Our History

1998

Founded as American Acoustical Contractors Corp. by Tony Giordano, a union carpenter of more than 30 years.

2010

We changed our name to American Contractors Corp. to better indicate the breadth of our capabilities.

2012

Our work to update Logan Airport Terminal C won Gold for interior finishes and Silver for renovations from CISCA.

2018

We moved from our Randolph office to our new facility at 35 North Street Canton, MA.

Founded in 1998, American Contractors Corp is a family owned New England Subcontractor specializing in acoustical ceilings and wall panel systems, as well as custom architectural metal design and finishes.

Whether your project requires a standard manufactured product or a complex design assisted custom fabricated solution, American Contractors has the resources to support your requirements. Our expertise in many complex trades means our clients are able to rely on one contractor to deliver the finest quality solutions on time and on budget.

American Contractors is recognized for completing complex projects in a variety of industries throughout New England including educational, healthcare, financial, retail, transportation, and commercial residential.

Leadership Team

Tony Giordano

President/CEO

In 1998, Tony founded American Contractors Corp. in Randolph, Massachusetts. A union carpenter for more than 30 years, Tony started by specializing in acoustical ceilings and wall panels and was formerly project manager and superintendent for B&B Acoustical Contractors and field foreman at Cheviot Corp. Over the decades, Tony has built many valued relationships and earned great respect in the industry, with a motto to reflect that: “We don’t build buildings, we build relationships.”

Robert McElman

Executive Vice President/Director of Architectural Metals

Robert graduated from Quincy High Vocation and Technical School, and followed the path of many in his family by going to work in the custom metal fabrication and manufacturing industry. His 35 years in this business serve as a true advantage, enabling him to work with architects and designers to find cost-effective solutions for making custom metal products manufacturable.

Christine Kofton

Controller

After graduating from Quinnipiac College with a BS in Accounting and Computer Science, Christine began her 20-year career in construction at a company specializing in modular homes. She took a short detour from construction, into the hospital sector, when she first moved to Massachusetts, but quickly returned to the industry. Christine’s experience is a great asset when she’s working with general contractors and vendors.

Ceilings & Interior Systems Construction Association
American Contractors President Tony Giordano has served on the CISCA board of directors. CISCA is an international trade association founded in 1950 for the advancement of the interior commercial construction industry.

Building Trades Employers’ Association
The BTEA is ihe major voice in New England for the union building trades’ contractor. The association encompasses seven different area trade associations that employ tradespeople from several different local building-trades unions.
